Good morning STEP Volunteers,
Well, as 2020 comes to a close we would like to thank you for all you have done throughout the year to support STEP and our military families. This has been an interesting year for everyone but because of YOU, we were able to support our military community when they needed it most!! Wishing each and every one of you a Happy New Year and looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Please take a look at the events below and let us know if you would like to volunteer for an event. We will be adhering to all CDC, State, and local guidance in regard to COVID guidelines and social distancing. All volunteers must sign up prior to the event so we can limit the number of volunteers, maintain safe social distancing, and keep our volunteers, service members, and staff safe and healthy.
All events will be held at our office located at 9915 Businesspark Ave., Suite A., San Diego 92131 unless otherwise noted. Advanced registration is required. To register make sure you have applied to volunteer and then email firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred day and time slot.
There are two events on the 6th so please let us know which event you would like to help with when you respond to this email.
January 6: Are you ready to get this year started off right? Come help us unload food from our truck into the warehouse and help our team prepare for our upcoming distribution. This event will be from 9:30-12:00 and we are looking for 6-8 volunteers for this event.
January 6: Our team is looking for 2 volunteers to help us pick up a large donation of furniture items and bring it back to our warehouse. We are anxious to pick this load up and get these items out to our military families...but, we need your help to do it!! This event will take place from 10:30 -1:30.
January 8: Do you have a little extra time to help us pick up a donation? Need volunteer hours? We can help you get all the hours you need!! We are looking for 2 volunteers to help us with this project from 9-12:00.
January 12: Would you like to help us better serve our military families? We will be sorting, inventorying, and organizing our warehouse to make sure everything is in order when our families come to get the items they need. We are looking for 4-6 volunteers to help from 9-12.
January 19: We need your help, sorting, inventorying, and helping with some things around the office/warehouse. We are looking for 4-6 volunteers from 9-12.
There are two events on the 20th so please let us know which event you would like to help with when you respond to this email.
January 20: We are looking for a volunteer to help us by driving our truck to the food bank to pick up food for our military families. You must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving a box truck. This event will take place from 8:30-10:00, you will go with one of our team members, pick up food, and return to the warehouse.
January 20: We are gearing up for another food and diaper distribution and are looking for 6-8 volunteers to help pack food bags and other goodies! We will need 6-8 volunteers for this event and it will be held from 9:30-12:30.
January 26: Come help us sort, inventory, and organize our warehouse!! We have lots of donations coming in and need your help! This opportunity is limited to 4-6 volunteers and will go from 9-12.
January 28: Would you like to make a difference in our military community? We are looking for 4-6 volunteers to help us in our warehouse, sorting, inventorying, and organizing from 9-12.
We hope to hear from you soon. As a reminder, all volunteers must wear a face mask or covering. Hand sanitizer will be available for your use at several stations throughout the warehouse and office. If you have a water bottle please bring it with you as we have a water refill station that you can use... if not we will have bottled water available for you! We will be taking temperatures at the door for anyone entering the building so we can keep everyone safe and healthy.
