STEP is Growing
“Walter J. and Betty C. Zable Foundation has been a partner to STEP since the early days and are proud of how the agency has strategically grown its mission and capacity. We are proud of our relationship and the work STEP does with military and Veteran families. San Diego needs this expansion, and we are happy to invest our Foundation's resources and the Zable good name in their continued success.”
-Warren Magill, President, Walter J. and Betty C. Zable Foundation
Applications for our services have surged, and the cost of living has risen. We are handling our highest-ever case load. The time to build capacity is now.
In October of 2022, STEP quietly launched a $6.5M strategic campaign to dramatically increase our organization’s capacity to serve junior enlisted military members in financial crisis, and their families.
increase in Emergency Financial Assistance applications
Raised towards our $6.5M
Dozens of community members came together to advise STEP on our plans to build capacity and expand services.
As of November 1, 2023 our stellar Campaign Steering committee has raised more than $4M towards our ambitious goal.
