Kia is a true patriot and U.S. Army Veteran. As an Army brat, she grew up immersed in military life and always knew she wanted to serve. And serve she did - not only in the Army herself, but as a military spouse and sister to multiple active-duty service members. Her dedication to the military community runs deep. With nearly a decade of volunteer work in communities across the country, Kia has shown her commitment to service time and time again.

She’s passionate about supporting military families and understands the challenges they face, from frequent PCS moves to long deployments. Kia joined STEP because she believes in our mission and saw an opportunity to continue her service by supporting those who serve. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Economy and Political Science from Evergreen State University. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing with her husband, Ben, and their pup, Romeo.
